The scan below is from a document held in the Milwaukee Public Library's Milwaukee Road Archives; Gayle Ecklund, archives technician, researched the collection and provided this image and other materials.  Presumably the General Waiting Room was primarily for women and children.  The men's waiting room might have been a rougher place with spittoons and smoking stands.
