Brian Gruber, whose grandparents owned Split Rock Products, which was located near the hidden lake,
took the photographs below in 1974 or '75.  "I grew up playing, fishing, walking, in the quarry
 many times as a child," he stated in an e-mail. "We lived right on the rim until I was 16."

Both photographs were taken from the northeast corner.
