Moraine at the Edge of a Glacier

Quintin Bendixen, an associate lecturer in the Department of Geography/Geology at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, took the photograph below at the edge of a glacier in Greenland. 
A similar scene probably was present about 10,000 years ago near what is now the intersection of Burleigh and Lilly Roads; it resulted in the
sand and gravel deposit that was excavated from the 1920s to the 1970s.
